In the unspoiled and remote archipelago of the Anambas Islands, in Indonesia, not far from Singapore and Malaysia, the spectacular nature reserve of Bawah is found.
Getting there takes some time, but this wonderful place is worth the journey.
In Bawah they have managed to perfectly mix sustainability and an excellent conservation philosophy, with a fresh, relaxed style, full of details and spectacular architecture, while completely integrated within its environment.
Arriving in Bawah by seaplane, flying over its six jungle-covered islands and bathed by turquoise blue lagoons, is the perfect beginning for a unique and very special stay.
In Bawah they have a beautiful motto, which refers to the importance of discovering your most authentic and true nature. This is, without a doubt, the perfect place to achieve it.
Its villas, intimately located among huge trees, with direct access to the lagoon and built with sustainable materials, are the perfect spot from which to discover everything that this paradise has to offer.
Our days there were spent enjoying the wide variety of activities included: daily yoga and Pilates sessions as well as fantastic treatments in the Aura Spa.
We hiked to the highest point of the island, and from there we reached a deserted beach where the chef had prepared a delicious picnic, just for us.
We snorkelled among turtles, sharks and all kinds of fish, visited caves, discovered the islands by kayak… In short, we enjoyed one of the most beautiful and incredible destinations I have ever visited.
Its excellent cuisine is also worth mentioning. With direct access to a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood, as well as to their extraordinary organic garden, we enjoyed delicious dishes with the best views in the world!
You can’t miss their tropical cocktails at the Jules Bar, before going down to the Treetops Restaurant to taste all the wonders suggested by the chef.
These pristine, exceptional and carefully well-preserved islands and their surrounding sea is a surprise for the senses and in a certain way, transformative. For me, it is a dream place that I will always carry in my heart and where I hope to return very soon.
