I am fortunate to have traveled to Greece several times in my life, and even so, this charismatic country never ceases to amaze me. No matter how many times I visit it, there are always interesting novelties and surprising places to discover.
On this occasion, I travelled on a full site inspection to Santorini, and stayed at the boutique Istoria Hotel, in Perivolos.
The hotel is spectacular, but beyond its elegance and style, what made my stay really special was their warm welcome and the way they took care of us. The family of Istoria Hotel made us feel at home thanks to their hospitality and professionalism.
And when the details go as far as personalising the water bottles, there’s no doubt that this is the place to be!
In fact, I was surprised at the fact that the hotel had only been open for a few weeks when I arrived. When we travel to new hotels, it’s easy to spot small issues that need to be polished. In this case, everything was simply perfect, thanks to the good care and great professionalism of the owners.
All the staff is excellently prepared; they are helpful, friendly and very professional.
The cuisine is simply spectacular. All dishes are delicious and presented with great taste and attention to detail.
The decoration is very elegant and each of the 12 rooms, all different and unique, offer an exquisite design, with its patio, swimming pool, terrace...
During my stay I was able to feel a clear parallelism between our culture and theirs, the same philosophy and way of doing things.
In addition to enjoying our stay at Istoria hotel, we lived a full experience on the island, combining cultural visits, such as the prehistoric village of Akrotiri, with catamaran trips and gastronomic experiences that took us to the best restaurants on the island.
We also had the opportunity to visit the rest of the hotels owned by the family of Istoria.
We enjoyed the sunset from the Mystique hotel in Oia, one of the most romantic places on the island, with views of the volcanic crater and an excellent Japanese restaurant.
We also visited the Vedema hotel, in Megalochori, a place that embodies the tradition of the owners family as the place where everything began; a long history of familiar saga that has been consolidated over the years.
And of course, we can’t forget the villas, the ideal accommodation for the most demanding clients who travel in search of privacy and total comfort.
I bid farewell to Greece knowing that I would definitely come back!
