My trip to Bawah was very special because it took place during the opening of the resort.
Bawah is an amazing place, a unique mini-archipelago, a destination in itself. With six virgin islands, three crystal-clear lagoons and thirteen powder white beaches next to primary forests, it is a wild paradise for a privileged few, and I was lucky to have it all to myself.
Upon arrival, I had the feeling of having found a lost and undiscovered paradise, a wild Jurassic island full of personality and character, lost in the middle of nowhere.
As they had just opened the property, I had the privilege of inspecting it with its architect, Sim Boon Yang, with whom I discovered the ins and outs and the interesting concept embodied by this accommodation, completely respectful with its surroundings.
In Bawah they are 100% committed to sustainability and the environment. In addition, they have a foundation that works actively to save the oceans and the conservation of turtles, Bawah Anambas Foundation, a project with which we are involved. They also work to raise awareness among local communities in the preservation of this incredible natural environment.
At the resort they are also very aware of the importance of safety. During my visit to the island I was able to participate in a drill with the army. There, the safety of customers is undoubtedly of the outmost importance.
I was also able to meet the owner and discover the island with him, with whom I had a great time.
In addition to inspecting the property, I enjoyed many of its activities, especially trekking in the jungle, snorkelling, yoga, and of course, relaxing massages!
The excellent cuisine served at Bawah deserves special mention, as well as its wellness offer, including its spa, yoga pavilion and fantastic massage menu.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to discover the island in its very beginnings, because this has allowed me to contribute to its evolution. I would also like to highlight the great work that the owner and manager have done to turn Bawah into a perfect paradise destination.
You can’t miss this amazing island; explorers are wanted!
