Explora Travesías are journeys during which they use vans to travel between countries, using remote camps as accommodation. This way allows the traveller to access hiking routes in some of the world´s most isolated landscapes of our Planet.
During this Travesía, travellers will experience the sublime silence and multi-colored valleys of the majestic Andes, natural border between Argentina and Chile.
Depending on your travel route, this Travesía can be taken either from Argentina or Chile, following the same itinerary.
Key points:
- Location: This Travesía runs from Salta (north of Argentina) to San Pedro de Atacama (north of Chile). It can also be taken from San Pedro de Atacama to Salta.
- Duration: 9 days, 8 nights.
- Activities: This route allows taking trekkings and exploration in some of the most isolated landscapes of our Planet.
- Accommodation: Explora Atacama along with 3 types of camps, isolated shipping containers, ancient stone cabins and Finca Rancagua, owned by explora. All redesigned to explora standards.
- Highlights: The Atacama Desert, the crossing of The Andes, the Calchaquíes Valleys, the Abra del Acay (the highest point in Argentina´s National Route 40) and the colonial town of Cachi in Argentina. Small Andean villages offering unrivalled hospitality.
- Number of participants: Up to 6 travellers.
- Altitude: This Travesía starts at 2.500 m.a.s.l. and may go above 4,000 m.a.s.l., arriving up to 5,061 meters.
