This year, with the arrival of spring, I had the opportunity to discover a really special, unique and spectacular place. Hidden in a privileged spot of the beautiful Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca, a Unesco World Heritage Site, lies the Possessió de Canet.
Surrounded by 120 hectares of fruit trees, almond trees and olive trees, this spectacular Mallorcan manor house from 1786 is a delight for the senses. It has been excellently restored maintaining the essence of the original property and endowing it with all the comfort and amenities to enjoy it throughout the year.
The house has an incredible and wide variety of rooms. Its spectacular indoor vaulted pool, along with two beautiful outdoor pools surrounded by lush gardens cared to the smallest detail, make it an ideal place to enjoy with a group of friends or family.
But what really stands out about this place is that it houses an extraordinary collection of art, carefully chosen by the owner, with such a spectacular taste and originality that it makes it a truly unique place. In addition, the wealth of its lands and nearby local markets offer the chef a top quality product, turning every meal, breakfast, snack or dinner, into a real wonder.
Canet has a team of highly trained professionals who offered us truly unique experiences. We were able to drive brand new electric vintage cars along the beautiful coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, dotted with small towns that still preserve their traditions.
And thanks to the large number of flowers, fruits and herbs that you can find in the house and its surroundings, we enjoyed a masterful class of perfumes, and an excellent rose sorbet!
We also enjoyed fantastic routes on electric bicycles, savouring the aromas of the fruit trees of the fantastic botanical garden.
And as a finishing touch, I enjoyed the thrilling sensation that comes from being able to plant your own tree, on this occasion it was an olive tree that we hope will bear its first fruits in about 3 years.
These are just some examples of what can be done inside and outside the property, since the possibilities are almost unlimited: sea, mountain, traditions, gastronomy, nightlife...
Canet is a place to be discovered and it’s completely off the beaten tracks; it’s a jewel to be enjoyed with everything it has to offer.
