PURE Pursuits in the land of fire and ice

In March 2016 I had the privilege of being the only Spanish woman selected to participate in the first edition of PURE Pursuits. The adventure took place in Iceland, land of fire and ice, and I was lucky to share the experience with a group of adventurers, fellow prescribers of the world of experiential travel.
The desire for adventure is part of my DNA, and when I was selected to be part of this inaugural group, I did not hesitate to sign up for it. Although I’d already visited Iceland in the past, I knew that I couldn’t miss this adventure.
For 5 days we explored the most remote places of this incredible island, living the most exciting experiences.
I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a snowmobile and drive into the crater of a volcano, while I felt the adrenaline running through my veins; such a wonderful feeling! We also walked about the wonderful winter landscapes of Iceland with snowshoes and went hunting for the northern lights.
However, the best was being able to experience some extraordinary adventures for the first time in my life; unique experiences such as climbing a vertical ice wall with spikes and crampons, and diving into the depths of the Icelandic tectonic plate.
In addition to staying in charming hotels, such as the ION Adventure Hotel en Nesjavellir, we also spent a night under the auroras: sleeping in an igloo tent, with only a survival kit!
Beside the adventure activities, the best thing about this experience was to share the trip with great insiders and good friends from the world of experiential travel. A heterogeneous group of adventurers united by the desire to excel and the aim to always go one step further.
