This 15th-century palazzo named after its former owner Doge Andrea Gritti became a hotel in 1895.
A multi-million renovation brought the building into the 21st century, offering a top class accommodation.
Packed with artworks, Rubelli fabrics on walls and Murano glass chandeliers - all restored during
building works - offer an intimate and elegant atmosphere.
The Gritti is located on a stretch of the Grand Canal, looking across the water to the church of
Santa Maria della Salute and just a ten minutes´ walk form Gallerie dell´Accademia or The Peggy
Guggenheim Collection.
Throughout the years, The Gritti Palace has hosted the cream of the crop of cinema, Hollywood,
writers and singers of all times.
The attention to detail extends to the restaurant and canal-side bar, where a very varied and
eclectic crowd of locals and visitors gather to enjoy the very best of The Gritti Palace´s cuisine
and mixology.
