Autumn is an ideal time for a short break. When the summer holidays feel so far away, it’s a good way to break out of the routine and regain one’s energy.

London was my chosen destination for an autumn weekend getaway. An opportunity to disconnect and rediscover interesting and surprising places. Because London does not disappoint.

One thing I truly enjoy when I visit a city is walking around. Exploring different neighbourhood, feeling the typical atmosphere of each one of them.

For shopping, apart from the many shopping centres in London, such as Harrods or Liberty, I really enjoyed walking around Long Acre Street, next to Covent Garden.

If you are looking for a more alternative environment, nothing better than discovering Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane on a Sunday morning.

One of the most interesting attractions in London are its incredible museums, and in addition, admission is free, so they’re an ideal option in case of unexpected rain.

And since you're in the museum area, in front of the Natural History Museum you'll find an ice skating rink, a perfect activity to spend a fun afternoon.

As for the accommodations, there are options for all tastes in the English capital. I’ll tell you about my favourites.

For those looking for a boutique, central and charming hotel, the Haymarket is an ideal choice. With an excellent location next to Trafalgar Square, good service and a style and design full of personality, it offers all the comforts expected of a luxury hotel, such as a perfectly equipped gym and a very original indoor pool.

COMO hotels are another of my favourite options for a stay in London, and you can also choose between two completely different accommodations from this international chain, COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin.

The COMO Metropolitan London hotel is a very elegant option, faithful to the COMO philosophy: simplicity and a sophisticated oriental-inspired design, with excellent service. In addition, the rooms of this hotel offer incredible views over Hyde Park, giving a great sense of spaciousness.

On the other hand, COMO The Halkin recalls the purest British style, with elegance and a timeless design. Smaller than COMO Metropolitan London, it offers cozy and sophisticated rooms in the Belgravia neighbourhood.
