Rome is home to the first Six Senses urban hotel. It is located in the center of the Italian capital, on Via Corso, one of the city's main thoroughfares. Despite its location, the sensation when staying is the same as in other hotels of the brand: to be inside a sanctuary full of peace and tranquility.
Six Senses Rome occupies the former 18th century Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, which has been meticulously renovated while preserving its exteriors and original architecture. The interiors of the hotel have been designed by Patricia Urquiola, who has made Six Senses Roma a green oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
Every room pay homage to the city's history, yet have a design based on contemporary Italian luxury. The property has an intimate feel, but the atmosphere is less formal compared to other hotels in the same category.
Sicilian chef Nadia Frisina runs the property's two restaurants. Bivuym, a Roman piazza-style restaurant with upscale "counters" focused on vegetable ingredients and organic meat from the region. Notos Rooftop, features stunning views, a fragrant herb garden and bars perfect for wine tastings, cocktails and snacks.
Of course, we must mention the spa, one of the main charms of the hotel. Six Senses is a reference in terms of wellness treatments. The property boasts an impressive indoor Roman baths that transport you back to ancient Rome.
